How to convert JPG images to a PDF

Turn one photo or a whole set of images into a single, neat PDF with A4 pages.

Published · By the Docshar team

Phones make it easy to photograph documents, but forms and offices usually want a PDF. Whether it is the front and back of an ID card, a handwritten assignment or receipts for an expense claim, Docshar's JPG to PDF tool turns your photos into one tidy PDF. It accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images.

Docshar processes your file in your browser, so it is not uploaded to our servers. Files can be up to 10 MB each.

Step by step

  1. Open JPG to PDF. Go to Docshar JPG to PDF.
  2. Add your images. Click Choose files and select one or more images. On a phone you can pick them from your gallery.
  3. Set the order. Drag the images, or use the arrows next to each one, to put the pages in order. Each image becomes one page.
  4. Choose the page layout. Pick a Page size (A4, US Letter or Same as image), an Orientation (Auto, Portrait or Landscape) and a Margin (None, Small or Large).
  5. Convert and download. Click Convert to PDF, then Download.

Which settings to choose

For documents that will be printed or submitted, A4 with Auto orientation and a Small margin looks like a normal scanned page: each image is scaled to fit the page, and wide photos get a landscape page automatically. Choose Same as image when you want each page to be exactly the size of the photo, for example for a photo album or screenshots.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Can I put the front and back of my ID card in one PDF?

Yes. Select both photos, put the front first, and convert. You get a two-page PDF.

Does it work with PNG and screenshots?

Yes. JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images are all accepted.

Will the image quality drop?

Only very slightly. PNG images are kept exactly, and photos are saved at high JPEG quality, with the correct rotation from your phone. Use Compress afterwards if you need a smaller file.

Can I add images to an existing PDF?

Use Merge, which accepts PDFs and images together, and arrange them in the order you want.
