Open a fillable PDF form and type your answers into a simple list of its fields. To sign, or to fill a PDF without form fields, open it in the PDF editor and use the Signature tool.

How to use Fill PDF Forms

  1. Choose or drop a PDF form.
  2. Fill in the fields that are listed below the file.
  3. Tick Lock the answers if you want to flatten the form.
  4. Click Fill and download, then use Edit in PDF Editor on the result to add your signature.

What it does

  • Finds the form's text fields (single and multi-line), checkboxes, dropdowns, list boxes and radio buttons.
  • Optional flattening makes the answers part of the page so they can no longer be changed.
  • For PDFs with no form fields, opens the file in the PDF editor so you can type on the page and sign.
  • Optional Fill with AI: type or say your answers in one line and review the suggested values before they are filled in.

Good to know

  • Signatures are added in the PDF editor, not on this page.
  • Only real PDF form fields are listed. Lines and boxes that are just printed on the page are not detected as fields.

Your files and privacy

The form is read and filled in your browser and is not uploaded to Docshar's server; only if you use the optional Fill with AI are your typed answers and the field names sent to Google Gemini, after you consent. If you are signed in, Docshar counts your operations (tool, number of files, sizes and page counts), never the file contents. See the Privacy Policy.

Questions

My PDF says it has no fillable form fields. What can I do?

Click Open in PDF Editor to sign. In the editor you can add text anywhere on the page, drop checkmarks and insert a signature.

What does locking the answers do?

It flattens the form: the answers become part of the page and the fields are removed, so the values can no longer be edited.

What does Fill with AI send?

It is optional and asks for consent first. It sends what you type plus the form's field names, types and choices to Google Gemini. The document text and the values already in the fields are not sent.
