Add an image or text watermark to PDF documents.

Place a text or image watermark on your PDF pages, such as CONFIDENTIAL or a logo. You control its look and which pages it appears on.

How to use Watermark PDF

  1. Choose a PDF file.
  2. Pick Text or Image. For text, type it and set font size and color; for an image, choose a PNG or JPG and set its width.
  3. Choose Center or Tiled layout and adjust opacity and rotation.
  4. Optionally enter page ranges such as 1-3, 5; leave the box empty for all pages.
  5. Click Add watermark and download the PDF.

What it does

  • Text watermarks with adjustable font size and color.
  • Image watermarks from PNG or JPG files, sized as a percentage of page width.
  • Centered or tiled (repeated across the page) layout.
  • Adjustable opacity, and rotation from -90 to 90 degrees.
  • Apply to all pages or to chosen page ranges.
  • Text in scripts such as Hindi, Cyrillic and Greek is drawn with bundled fonts.

Good to know

  • The watermark is added on top of the page content and could be removed with PDF editing software. Use Flatten with the Everything option if you need it baked into a page image.
  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
  • Characters that no bundled font covers, such as Chinese, Japanese or Korean, may show as question marks.

Your files and privacy

The watermark is added inside your browser; your PDF and image are not uploaded to Docshar's server for processing. If you are signed in, Docshar counts your operations (tool, number of files, sizes and page counts), never the file contents. See the Privacy Policy.

Questions

Can I use my logo as a watermark?

Yes. Choose Image and pick a PNG or JPG file. PNG transparency is kept.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Enter page numbers or ranges in the Pages box, for example 1-3, 5.

What does Tiled do?

Tiled repeats the watermark across the whole page instead of placing one copy in the center.
