Combine several pages of a PDF onto each sheet to save paper. Pages are placed as vector content, so text stays sharp.

How to use N-up PDF

  1. Choose or drop your PDF file.
  2. Pick how many pages per sheet: 2, 4, 6, 8 or 16.
  3. Choose the order (across or down) and the sheet size: A4, Letter or same as the original.
  4. Turn the thin page borders on or off, then click Create N-up PDF and download.

What it does

  • 2, 4, 6, 8 or 16 pages per sheet.
  • Order pages left to right then down, or top to bottom then across.
  • A4, Letter or the size of the first original page.
  • Picks portrait or landscape and the grid layout that shows the pages largest.
  • Pages are embedded as vectors, not turned into images, so text stays sharp.
  • Optional thin border around each page; rotated pages are placed upright.

Good to know

  • Links and form fields from the original pages are not carried over.
  • The layout is based on the size of the first page; pages of other sizes are scaled to fit each cell.

Your files and privacy

The N-up sheets are built in your browser, so your PDF is not uploaded to Docshar's server. If you are signed in, Docshar counts your operations (tool, number of files, sizes and page counts), never the file contents. See the Privacy Policy.

Questions

Will the text be blurry?

No. The original pages are placed onto the new sheet as vector content, so text and line art stay sharp when you zoom or print.

Does it choose landscape automatically?

Yes. The tool tries portrait and landscape sheets and uses the one where the pages appear largest.

Can I put two pages side by side on A4?

Yes. Choose 2 pages per sheet and A4. For portrait pages the sheet is turned landscape so both fit side by side.
